For my birthday I ended up getting a guitar. It has been on my list of things to learn for some time. I actually got it a week early. I ended up getting an electric guitar so that I could plug it into the computer and use it with software. I felt really odd with all the annoying young teenagers trying to play the expensive guitars.
On my birthday we decided to take the train into NYC. It is a lot more relaxing and we didn't quite feel like trusting our car there again yet. My friend's wife E. was preforming a in a concert. It was a string quartet but they were playing early modernist music that followed along with a play. I enjoyed it a lot and having her explain it to us afterwords. After they concert they took us to a good sushi restaurant that was in that neighborhood.
The whole night I just kept thinking how different we were living now compared to last year. The ability to just go see a concert or having money to go to a nice restaurant.
